It's about time I say hehe... This little girl took a while to complete ( since before April) but I could not be happier with her results. I am having a hard time letting her go up for adoption. She could really be a keeper here in my nursery! When she was half way finished I really thought that she was going to be a boy. Once her hair & eyelashes were micro-rooted her appearance was all girl! 

I think I am going to call her Charlotte. The name Charlotte comes from the French origin. In French The meaning of the name Charlotte is: little or womanly. Of course her new mommy can re-name her what ever she wishes once she is adopted. Charlotte is a pretty name and suits her well I think.

 

 Charlotte has full really soft vinyl legs and 3/4 arms. I gave her a chest/tummy plate for some beautiful photos ops. Reva Schick sculpts some of the most adorable kits. I have been lucky enough to reborn a few of her kits but I have to say "Noah" is certainly my favorite! I just finished her photo shoot and will be creating her auction on eBay. I would look for her tomorrow night Wednesday (6/16). I think I am too tired to sit for another hour and create her listing, so tomorrow I will work on it while my boys take naps.

Before & After Photos : Welcome Back Taylor & Taylor kits : Tamie Yarie

I know I forgot to get up "Monday's Music" last night, but I was so tired from the long weekend I'll do that later today :) But anyways- Here are a few pictures of my before & after of the Taylor twins.

The 1st Taylor came out a while ago maybe in 2008 or early 2009? I could be wrong, but that sounds right. Then late last year Tamie Yarie decided to sculpt/create another baby called "Welcome Back Taylor" so they look exactly a like just different expressions. When I found this out I started the hunt for an un-touched 1st Taylor kit. She was impossible to find, I searched for a good 2 months and one day I found her! Just in time since "Welcome Back Taylor" kits were ready to be shipped! I had the vision of blue eyes and sandy blonde newborn looking hair as sweet sisters. I like to give my babies color & warmth. They came out exactly the way I pictured them! 

 

I named these sweethearts "Ella & Emma" Ella is the "Welcome Back Taylor" (closed mouth, sold out/new release). Emma is "Taylor" (open mouth hard to find sold out kit). Her new mum can re-name each baby, if they like something better. 

These girls were about 4 months in the making, between tracking down one of the kits, and actually going to work on them.  Again thank you to Vera, with Vera Doll Couturer for her amazing little outfits. She makes my Victorian Gothic dresses, and I also had her make the twins lovely sets. Tell her I sent you! 

 

 

I'm sorry for the pictures without eyes, it can be a bit creepy. The eyes had not arrived yet before I could take the picture and started painting them. I will try and start doing that before I take pictures haha... The only thing I did before I snapped a shot was open both girls nose. You can get the jist of just how much work goes into just the painting process. 

That is just 50% of the baby. Then you have to micro-root mo-hair. Set eyes if they are awake and weight & fill the babies limbs. Don't worry, I never use any sand in my babies. Just the best quality of products. Once that is all finished you get to put them together! That part is always so exciting!  Whew... you think you would be finished, mmmm nope! Then I get to photograph the darlings (always soooooo much fun)  and create the eBay listing so they can make a world wide debut!

Before & After Sweet Stuff Marita Winters

To show you, if you are not as familiar with the art of creating a reborn is my before & after picture of a sweet baby that I just finished. This is a "Sweet Stuff" kit by Marita Winters. Kits come with a head, two legs & two arms made of super soft vinyl. It generally takes me at least 20+ layers of genesis heat set paints. Each layer is baked on for roughly 8-9 minuets @ 265 degrees. 

The color of this vinyl is awesome, it's a lighter peach color which is my favorite to work on. You never know what color you will receive exactly, they will tell you but one is never the same as the next. With a peach color, it's easier to create the skin tone I was after. A soft peaches & cream, but with more warmth to make her look like she is really breathing.

As I examine my photos side by side, I can really see all the little details that pop out, around her eyes, cheeks, the blotchyness of her forehead. I am very proud of this baby girl, a lot of hard work went into her and I am so pleased with her outcome.
